COLD HARD FLASH
Flash Empowers

On May 3, 2007, the Reagan Library hosted the first GOP presidential debate for the 2008 election. Critics called the debate boring, so Josh Faure-Brac stepped in to give the evening his own spin. In this latest SuperNews episode titled First Repub Debate ’08, we learn which of the Republican candidates bears a resemblance to Gandalf, from The Lord of the Rings.

Josh Faure-Brac’s SuperNews takes on the world’s most famous celebrity gossip blogger, Perez Hilton. As you might expect, the episode titled Perez Hilton Show doesn’t put him in the most favorable light, but as it turns out, Perez likes it. Have a look at his website where Hilton calls the episode “the most amazing thing ever for real.” For as much as he dishes out, Perez seems to know when to swallow his own medicine.

Faure-Brac and I will be on a panel together in June at Digital Hollywood along with some other great online entertainment folk. If you’re in Santa Monica – drop in on June 12th.

Josh Faure-Brac’s SuperNews has done it again. There’s been plenty of spoofs up until now of Apple’s Get a Mac ads, but none are funnier than this SuperNews send-up pitting Steve Jobs against Bill Gates. I mean, of course an iHome wouldn’t have any Windows. Brilliant!

SuperNews airs on Current TV, and it was also featured here back in May of 2006.

If you’re one of the 28 million homes in America that gets Al Gore’s Current TV network, then you may have already fallen in love with ‘SuperNews.’ It’s the animated political satire show from the mind of self-described Independent, Josh Faure-Brac. He’s not only the created of this multi-episode series, he’s the writer, director, lead character designer and voice actor behind the majority of the characters. Oh, and his band also did the Show’s theme song.

Josh has been doing much the same thing since early in the decade, when he worked on a number of web series, including one of his own, the animated political comedy ‘Bill and Ted,’ (Bill clinton and Ted Kennedy). He’s written for TV too, with a 2-season run on VH1′s ‘Illustrated.’

But it’s not TV that’s increasing Josh’s stock – it’s the web. Over at YouTube, his SuperNews episode ‘The Immigration Debate’ has been seen over a half-million times (Lake Popozao? Bahahahah!) No wonder Wired Magazine is calling the show “funny and edgy.”

The Immigration Debate

Josh works with a small team on ‘SuperNews,’ including Steven K.L. Olson, who is credited as the Lead Animator. He has many years of Flash animation experience behind him, including work for Sesame Workshop and Disneyland.

Check out an interview with Josh over at the Current TV website or watch the Oprah episode below.
