One of the directors of Total Drama Island, Mark Thornton, dressed up his house with some Flash animation for this past weekend’s Halloween festivities. Taking the lead from Mark Gervais’ Hallowindow, Thornton projected a few characters from TDI onto his window. Have a look at the results:

Total Drama Island, a new Flash-animated series created by Tom McGillis and Jennifer Pertsch, begins airing on Sunday July 8th on Canada’s Teletoon network. This reality show spoof series comes from Fresh Animation and is being animated by Elliott Animation with big help from CHF regulars Todd Kauffman and Mark Thornton, otherwise known as Neptoon Studios.

You can watch this same trailer on the Total Drama Island website where users can create customized avatars, play 26 unique games, and read a weekly email tabloid magazine tailored to each player.

Playback magazine, who call themselves “Canada’s production, broadcasting & interactive media journal,” recently posted an article about the Flash-animated show ‘Total Drama Island.’ CHF has been keeping tabs on this project with a few posts of our own, and now we have a little more news - the show has been picked up for 30 episodes and it’s due out ’sometime in 2007.’ Okay, that’s not really anything more than we knew before, but the article does have a shout-out to Todd Kaufman and Mark Thornton (Neptoon Studios), who will be directing. Todd and Mark were first mentioned here back in 2005 regarding the Nicktoons Film Festival.

The show is being distributed by Zoom in North America and Cake Distribution is handling the rest.

Back in February, you might have spotted a post here about ‘Camp TV,’ a new Flash-animated series from the creators of ‘6teen.’ The project has officially borne fruit, and they’ve also got a new title - ‘Total Drama Island.’

The talented folks at Neptoon Studios, which is headed up by Todd Kauffman and Mark Thornton, recently posted a link to their animated promo.

With artists like Jared Deal and Joel Trussell on board, it’s no wonder this thing looks and moves so well.

Next up - 26 episodes for Teletoon, due out in 2007. Production starts in June.
