The gang at Tui Studios partnered with DDB Sydney to produce a 60-second spot for the Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation. The spot, titled Mary the Braveheart, is an allegorical tale of a young girl fighting a battle against evil bacteria-laden beasts. Flash was used mainly in preproduction for this piece, and then Kelly Baigent and Jonathan Dower at Tui Studios employed Maya and After Effects to create the final cut.
And below is the animatic for the piece, which was primarily created in Flash and Photoshop.
Sydney-based Tui Studios has released a trailer for their upcoming online fantasy series - The Heresy Saga. The video was produced with Flash 8 and After Effects, with the exception of the final shot, which was created with Anime Studio Pro. The series is being directed by Kelly Baigent, who worked at Walt Disney Australia as the Unit Director on Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch has a Glitch.
Tui Studios, who were highlighted here back in May for their short Scraggle Muffin, have snuck out a snippet of footage from an upcoming Flash-animated project. As yet unnamed, the project is being animated and composited entirely in Flash, but they used 3rd party extensions like 3D Cam. The goal is to make 6 or 7 chapters at around 7-10 minutes each. A full trailer is due soon - can’t wait!
Without hearing the character’s voices or knowing what the storylines are, it’s hard to know if Scraggle Muffin is going to be a hit with the preschool crowd. But simply going off the look of the show, I’d wager a few bucks that it’s got a shot. The series is being brought to life by 30-year old Sydney-based artist Jonathan Dower, who runs Tui Studios along with Kelly Baigent. His experience at Walt Disney Australia’s studio shines through.
