Katan is a rather epic Flash-animated short by a 22-year old artist from the UK known as Cerberus. He’s built a sizable following in the furry community, and on sites like FurAffinity. He started making this particular Aztec-themed short back in 2008, and recently hit it big on Newgrounds, where it’s currently ranked #1 on the All-Time list. I also spotted a making-of video he posted last year.
Partridge Sends Johnny Depp To Burtonland
Harry Partridge was asked by BBC Comedy to take the piss out of pop culture again. Following up on his spoof of Rock Band from last September, Partridge now aims his clever animated comedy at Tim Burton, who, thanks to Johnny Depp, is enjoying the biggest box office success of his career with the critically-panned Alice in Wonderland. Ruffle’s Recycling Spot
Along with Bus Productions, Aardman Animations commercial director Tim Ruffle recently directed a series of 5 recycling spots for the Catalonia Government. The campaign promotes the concept that little actions can make a big difference, and Ruffle and his team animated the spots in Flash and then composited the material together in After Effects. The animation team included Joe Wood, Tom Evans, Zoran Jankovic, Robin Davey and Felix Massie, with illustrations by Adrian Johnson. Here’s one of the ads…
Winter Forecast – A New Simon’s Cat Episode
Anyone trapped in the nasty blizzard that’s encased the mid-Atlantic region of the US probably needs a good laugh. Simon Tofield has delivered a snow-themed Simon’s Cat episode that will surely deliver on that promise. It’s the entirety of Snow Business, which was teased back in December.
