The Brothers McLeod have a great knack for switching things up. They can knock out a half-dozen comedic episodes of Fuggy Fuggy, and then turn to more serious, thoughtful material like The Moon Bird, “a dark fairytale about an orphan girl.” It’s their latest film, a 15-minute short funded by the UK Film Council, Screen WM and CHANNEL 4. Remember TomSka’s asdfmovie? It’s rapid-fire absurdist comedy based on the asdf comic at cakebomb.co.uk, all set against stick-figure Flash-animation. Over a year later, episode two is upon us, and the animation was provided by Edd Gould, proprietor of Eddsworld. Here’s asdfmovie2:

Andy Sykes has teamed up with the distribution company Shorts International for a series of 3 Flash-animated shorts. The collection is titled Special Glue an Other Stories, and below you can see the first. Here’s Special Glue, which has already screen at a number of festivals around the world.

UK-based Andy Sykes has planned some activities for you. He’s bundled these together along with some linework into a self-published release he calls the Hexjibber Colouring and Activity Book (for those of you not familiar with that wacky British version of the English language, “colouring” is a word that essentially means “coloring,” or something close to that). Sykes, an award-winning independent animator, actually released this in 2006, but he’s just now created a Flash-animated promo clip, which is belouw (British for “below”).
