Late last week, The New York Times published an in-depth deconstruction of the animation process behind the upcoming HBO series The Ricky Gervais Show, which premieres on Friday night. My career mentor, Marge Dean, walks you through the series from storyboarding to final animation (produced in Flash at W!LDBRAIN), including an intersting bit about how Gervais wanted his character to resemble Fred Flintstone.
The premiere of HBO’s news animated series The Ricky Gervais Show is less than 2 weeks away (February 19th), and I spotted some additional Flash animated footage. Animation by W!LDBRAIN.
You may have seen this last month, but it somehow slipped past me. It’s a clip from HBO’s upcoming animated series The Ricky Gervais Show, which premieres on February 19th. It’s being animated in Flash at the W!LDBRAIN offices in Sherman Oaks, and the characters were designed by the mighty Craig Kellman. It utilizes audio from Gervais’ podcast, which he broadcasts along with Stephen Merchant and Karl Pilkington.
While the Esurance team may be distracted by their recent coupling with the upcoming Star Trek movie, they haven’t stopped pumping out adventures for pink-haired Erin Esurance. This latest ad, titled Mission Savings, takes Erin to the slopes – on skis. We were pretty certain she favored snow boarding, but she’s apparently fond of both. The animation is overseen by Wildbrain, and produced by Ghostbot.
If you’ve been obsessively watching TV these past few days, transfixed on this election coverage, you may have seen the new Erin Esurance TV spot – Auto Insurance Face-Off. Erin, who is voiced by Mo Mellady, squares off against some rowdy wrestlers in the new ad for the auto insurer. Phil Robinson at W!ldbrain directed, while Ghostbot handled the Flash animation.
