Brazil’s Mundo Canibal
A Brazilian Flash animation 
site called Mundo Canibal seems to have captivated the nation. The site hosts dozens (hundreds?) of short animated clips, all narrated by in a pitched-up screetch that will burst your eardrums. Some of the shorts are topical – making fun of Tom Cruise or Star Wars – but most are original characters.
The most popular shorts have been viewed millions of times, and the most popular, a short called ‘Avaiana de Pau,’ has been seen over 8 million times. It appears the short is about homemade shoes and the pain they can inflict. Most of the shorts seem to rely heavily on poop, screaming, and then more screaming.
The site has seen 
so much success that they’ve released a DVD filled with 40 of the web episodes and 5 special bonus episodes. They’ve released a short trailer of the DVD that you can view on the site.
Mundo Canibal is also hawking a Flash animation tutorial book written by the brothers Piologo. The cover features one of the characters from Mundo Canibal.

Really cool Flash animation.
Hey Aaron or anyone else out there. I found a book of theirs on their site, but it seems to be in Portuguese. Does anyone know if it’s available in English to buy? Or if they are planning on doing that? Anyway to contact the company and ask? Here is the link to the book. Disturbing in a Happy Tree Friends way – and that ain’t good. Plenty of gore and excrement, very little humor.

If you do decide to view some of their shorts, I recomend turning off the audio. The belligerent screaming and rowdy Portuguese detracted from their work. It was just plain annoying half way through the clip. Also, check out the Spunge Bob parody.

The book “Flash Animado” it’s only in Portuguese version.
It’s similar to others, like Sandro Corsaro’s “Hollywood 2D Digital animation”; character design, paint with flash, storyboards… and a bit of Actionscript.
About the site, It’s really gore but it’s good. Animation it’s OK.

The animations are good quality, but the sound is bad.
In the world of flash animation few sites they obtain so great quality.

Yeah, these cartoons are a real fever here in Brazil.
They’re heavily based on making you laugh by hurting and killing ppl and one can see a lot of discrimination against minorities in them, so it’s a subject for debate whether they cross the line between Ethics and freedom of expression.
That a side, the are extremely fun!

except for the fascination with butts and poop, I thought these were visually appealing. I like the idea of spoofing lots of other cartoons like spongebob, powerpuff girls, dragonball z. i’m not sure if i want to understand the dialoge though…

AWESOME
I LOVE this guys, they are funny and extermily violent, but stay funny, this was the first site that I’ve visited. I stay a little scared with the violence and gore, but after a time they make my mind with cool flash and stuff.

The short movie
“Avaiana de Pau” is based on the bad habit that some parents have in Brazil(in other places of world too), to punish their kids by beating their sandals(Havaiana is one of most popular brands in Brazil), in the movie, they make fun of it, showing a n ultimate weapon to make their kids behave.
The narrator, talks in the “eardrum buster tone”, because he’s ´playing the role of a drunk guy.
Anyways, You have to understand portuguese and/or the brazilian habits to understand the movies in this site.
Even thought the poop part is really pointless and disgusting,the other animations are pretty good, so, do not be so harsh at them.

I understand in Portuguese, this animation is cool, it’s better than HTF, very funny, very crazy and have many creativity, but HTF is not very funny, just have exaggerated violence, Mundo Canibal have exaggerated violence, but have creativity.
